Seeing a different Cider to Facebook

Seeing a different Cider to Facebook

Why would your business want to be on facebook?

Well, here's an example of why the Brewers of Tooheys Extra Dry have a dedicated and controlled page for their brand, 5 seeds.

5 Seeds is an apple cider. Along with Point of Sale, billboard advertising and Television Commercials, they have promoted only their facebook URL. www.facebook.com/5Seeds.

When publishing this article, they had 6,959 people LIKE their 5 Seeds page.

Is your Twitter Stream Selfish?

Running through Feedia's Twitter Stream this morning it's easy to identify which of our followers are selfish and which aren't.

What do I mean by selfish?

It's all about them and not their followers or customers. Let me ask you a few questions:

Using Social Media to Make People Hungry

Most restaurants, cafes, and food stores wouldn’t think twice about using social media as a advertising stream. My message to those is "wake up!"

I’ve seen a lot of businesses in my local city Brisbane fail to use social media properly, they usually use the medium to push as much advertising as possible to their followers, resulting in a high number of drop-outs. Give your social media page personality, interact with your followers, and advertise as minimal as possible are the key rules.

Is your business daunted by social media? Don't be!

I speak to a lot of business about introducing social media into their online marketing. Often when first introducing this to some businesses, I look across the table to a daunted client. Social media doesn't need to make you feel this way, in fact the polar opposite.

Social media

There are all different types of Social Media around and it can become overwhelming to know which ones to use and how to use them.

Increase website traffic: first steps first

First impressions last. From your first glance when meeting someone new, through to the quality of conversation they hold with you during the first initial meeting, instantly you have already assessed this person and considered your opinion on various obvious and not-so-obvious areas.

Messy hair, unpressed clothes and dirty shoes = untidy, disorganised, lack of ambition.

Similarly, a slow, unimpressive and cluttered website, that in addition bores users with its long winded content all about them, and it's little wonder that things don't start off with a bang!

Effective ways to generate traffic to a website

We have a lot of our clients ask us to consult with them to build an effective online strategy that will increase their website traffic or generate initial traffic to their website post launch.

Search engine optimisation, search engine marketing, social media, blogs and email marketing are a few ways to generate and build website traffic.

Each enable a business to engage with customers and prospects online.

2009 Twends

At Feedia we're all in review mode as the year draws to a close so we've brought you the top Twitter trends over the past year, thanks to insights from the Twitter research team.

What a year it has been, and with some major incidents like Michael Jackson's passing, swine flu running away with the media and Twilight fans going gar-garh over New Moon it isn't that surprising as to what made the top lists.

So here you have it; a showcase and a little insight into what was hot in Tweeting news.

How to grab their attention

With Facebook announcing their 350 million user status, it is little wonder that social media and an effective strategy for 2010 is on my mind.

It is somewhat amusing, yet frustrating, to come across so many business fan pages on Facebook, or to read twitter feeds that scream 'Buy from me now!'. It seems that often the 'social' part of social media is ignored - instead companies seem to be treating it as just another source of direct advertising.
