Did Social Media kill the communication star?
Recently we came across an interesting article questioning the connection between online social networking and deteriorating communication skills.
It outlined that some psychologists argue that social networking contributes to the death of emotional intelligence. It made the point; "email didn't kill conversation, so why should social networking?"

Yesterday we posted an article about the hierarchy of digital distractions. (click here to view this article) This information design visually represented communication mediums that are most likely to distract people in their everyday life.
This information design provides mass projections but humans are diverse creatures and individuals. People's communication styles adjust depending upon the message that is being delivered and their preferred communication style.

These days we spend so much time using computers in what Information is Beautiful refers to as "a swampy blur of digital activity, smeared across various activities, media and software".
As technology rapidly changes and evolves, its usage is set to increase and the blur will become more out of focus.
Information is Beautiful has designed a diagram that visually represents this hierarchical cloud of activity.
