Over the next coming weeks the Feedians will be focussing on mobile websites and applications. To provide you with a little clarity, I thought I would share the differences between mobile websites and also applications - apart from the obvious variation in their names.
Mobile website
A mobile site is similar to a standard website, however it is built, designed and developed to render on a mobile device. This means that images and information is structured so that the user can effectively view and browse the site using a handheld device.

Web application company Gomez, has released the findings of their consumer mobile web experiences study. The results indicate that most respondents were unhappy with the performance of mobile websites.
"While mobile users may accept sites that are 'light' on richness and small in form factor, they are evidently not willing to sacrifice performance." - Matt Poepsel, Gomez’s VP of Performance Strategies.
