In mid December last year, the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy released the results of their live pilot of the proposed internet filter on their website.
Summary of Results
At face value, the report suggests that the pilot trial was a universal success.

Over this year social media usage has exploded. According to Craig, "2010 will be the year social media sites are scaled to the stratosphere of online activity, rivaling Google for relevance and dominance.

Emarketer Daily has released some interesting statistics, from a study concerning US mobile phone internet usage. According to the study the US mobile internet population is rapidly increasing. A report conducted by AIMIA revealed that Australian mobile internet usage had increased a whopping 80%.

Let me give you a quick background. Currently, Australia does not have an R18+ rating for video games. I won’t go into detail on why this is so sorely needed – that’s for another, longer blog post. The only person standing in the way of a review of the system is South Australian Attorney-General and State Member for Croydon, the Hon. Michael Atkinson.

With 2010 in sight eMarketer Daily have released interesting findings that indicate it as being the year for small businesses to invest in social media and email marketing.
"Three-quarters of small businesses will increase their spending on e-mail marketing in 2010, while nearly seven in ten will put more dollars toward social media, according to VerticalResponse data."
Findings from this report also indicate that fewer SMEs will invest in search engine marketing and banner advertising to focus more on social media and email marketing efforts.

Following on from my now consistent obsession with my iPhone, I have become a regular user of mobile sites. And I am disgruntled regularly when I come across sites that are not compatible for this type of use.
Exactly as the name suggests, a mobile website is a trimmed down version of a website that is optimised to view on mobile phones and other handheld devices.

It’s here! Hurrah!
I’m pretty excited. Sure, our office is full of giant iMacs, but in my heart and home I’m still a devout PC fan. The launch on October 27 signals the start of a raft of industry changes that will reshape the face of consumer computing.
The general consensus is that Windows 7 will finally give XP users the impetus to upgrade; an opportunity apparently missed by Vista. Given the favourable previews and reviews Windows 7 has received thus far, it’s pretty safe to assume this will be a widespread scenario.
