According to a recent article by eMarketer daily, a bad online campaign is worse than none at all.

Good creative makes a successful campaign. Recent data from Dynamic Logic indicates that the worst-performing campaigns have negatively affected brand metrics.

"The bottom 20% of online ad campaigns reduced opinions among Internet users exposed to the ads across the board. And purchase intent was pushed down the most by a bad campaign—by 4.1 percentage points." - eMarketer

You can't fake social media hype!

I lose interest at the best of times, hence the numerous fish graves at the back of my family home, the countless shriveled plants and the unsuccessful herb patch that I can't bear to tell Dad about.

We all have had something in our lives that we lost interest in, mine just involves the death of living objects. We lose interest if nothing seems to be significantly developing, advancing or producing at a rapid pace. It's only natural to want to see results immediately.

Fuelled by success

A week and a half into my new life here at Feedia and I am really excited about the future. I have met a number of clients and prospects, all running very different businesses, but all with the drive and passion so essential for ongoing success.

The business community here in Queensland is diverse and vibrant but surprisingly modest - a very interesting mix. Mostly receptive to new digital media strategies, the businesses I have met with so far have been warm to our suggestions for expanding their online presence, giving me some great projects to brainstorm with the team.

Results from a recent study conducted by eMarketer shows that local searchers head to stores more.

According to TMP Directional Marketing and comScore; 37% of US internet users who conducted an online local business search in 2009 visited the store in person. This statistic has risen 5% since last year with 46% of local search engine users likely to visit the store after finding the business online.

Don't attempt to sabotage a competitor

In 2006, mobile phone manufacturer Motorola got in hot water when it was alleged that they placed a video on YouTube showing how easy it was to snap a Samsung mobile phone in half.

Motorola initially denied the accusation, with later reports claiming they admitted to having made the video, and weren't sure how it came to be on YouTube.

How does your business measure success online?

A recent study conducted by eMarketer reveals the methods companies use to measure the success of their marketing programs. Of the companies surveyed three-quarters of respondents have guidelines in place to measure their online marketing, and for one-half measurement was required to obtain marking funding.

The number one metric that determined the success of marketing was the number of new customers acquired (77%). Followed by leads generated (73%), overall net increase in sales (67%), net sales from current customers (42%) and the quantified increase in awareness (40%).
