Restaurant Quality and Dining with Fast Food Service
Everyone has experienced this problem when they dine out, you want to grab the attention of a waiter for a drink but you simply cannot grab their attention. You resort to waving your arms above your head and shouting "WAITER!"
What if there was a method, device, or a fridge conveniently placed under your table? The chances of your personal fridge is a bit slim but you could easily have your own electronic menu.
The are endless choices available for electronic menus but the following are my personal recommendations:-
- Overhead Projection
Using the surface of the table as the menu and make the table touch sensitive to allow customers to select food and drinks. This method is the most expensive but it utilises no room on the table. Customers can view the real size of the menu item before purchasing, giving them confidence in their menu selection. - LCD Touch Screen
Each table can be fitted with an LCD Touch Screen. Unfortunately, this will make your tables unattractive and the menu can only be utilised by one person at a time, it will still solve your customer service issues. - Portable Menus
The first device that comes to mind is iPads, they're easy to use and they can be removed from the table at the customer's request. The costs of using iPads is only a fraction higher than the LCD touch screens.
So which method would suit your cafe, restaurant or bar? The biggest question is, would it suit the style and environment of your restaurant, cafe?
