One of the most interesting parts of the nocleanfeed debate is....

...the online communities that have been created.

Yes I could write about how the technical limitations of the governments legislation, or the effects it will have on internet speeds and so forth. However I feel this as an awesome opportunity to showcase the incredible standing advocates of the nocleanfeed protest are implementing via social media.

Facebook

The worst part of censorship is █████.

The worst part of censorship is █████. This is a Facebook group that has accumulated a growing following of 41,752 members. So far this is the biggest campaign group I could find and has a lot of fan support with most of the posts and engagement on the wall being created by fans.

No Clean Feed

Another Facebook group I found is No Clean Feed. This group also has a strong group with 16,565 members. Again similar to the other Facebook group the wall has a lot of user engagement.

No Clean Feed

A popular website made for this campaign is No Clean Feed. This website offers in depth information as to protests and campaigns happening on and offline.

Twitter

There are a few Twitter accounts out and about such as: http://twitter.com/nocleanfeed and http://twitter.com/efa_oz. Both these accounts provide up to date information about the clean feed debate.

The Great Australian Internet Blackout

Whilst searching for campaigns online, I also discovered The Great Australian Internet Blackout. Basically this site provides you with code to blackout your website for one week in protest to the government's online censorship proposal.

To view more information about this campaign click here.

Nowadays there is so much opportunity for us to voice our opinion online. It is interesting to see other people's opinions on subjects and things that affect them in everyday life. The irony in these campaigns is that the government's filter may suppress the freedom of speech currently available online.

Again these are just a few online campagins I found, if you know of more I would love to here about them in the comments below.
