The year is almost up.  Weird.  Each year seems to be going faster, I'm sure you know what I'm on about.  This one has whizzed by, and has seen me complete an 18 month tour of duty in the Feedia theatre of operations.

While I've learned loads of new things I think my primary discoveries have been in the field of design details.  The last 12 months has seen me take more notice of the "small things."  I've particularly started paying much more close attention to good typography.  Believe it or not, the smallest adjustments and optimisations with properties such as line heights and letter spacing makes a monumental change to the design.

Another path I've been following for the last few months has been simplicity.  Beautiful design doesn't mean how many colours, images, and complexity you can fit into something.  Beautiful design to me means harmony, and I think this year has seen my designs achieve this harmony more so than before.

So next year, I hope to continue learning and improving my designs... Oh, and see Australia win the World Cup.
