It’s my birthday today, the first one in Australia. So far I have received:
2 hand delivered birthday cards
3 cards in the mail
No birthday phone calls
2 messages via Skype
8 messages and e-cards on MSN
AND 25 wall-to-wall comments and messages on Facebook
Last year I received around 20 cards, messages and phone calls and I wasn’t on Facebook.
So Facebook alone has helped 5 more people wish me a happy birthday than all the other channels managed to achieve last year.
How was this possible?
By being proactive, creating a Facebook account that enabled my friends to easily remember and be reminded about my birthday without having to look at calendars, dig around in birthday books or, worse still, forget altogether.
Thank you Facebook.
Why not let Facebook remind your customers to get in touch with you? Put another birthday smile on my face and talk to me about your New Year social media campaign today.
