Maximising Communication
Last night the Feedia team attended the Networx event - Cracking the Creative Brief.
The knowledge and insights of the panel confirmed that the briefing and proposal process is all about strong internal and external communication, adhering to a structure and sticking to process.
Like everything, communication is the key to developing a successful brief and effectively conveying your vision. So many elements create a brief, each bringing a different perspective and understanding to the process.
These different focuses can cause mis-communication and confusion. In order to reduce this confusion each party needs to understand or acknowledge the different communication styles.
Collaboration is a key element within web design and the creative industries. It's about interpreting different languages and communication styles, asking questions and understanding each perspective (client, marketing through to creative and the web design team) to develop a tight brief that achieves the client's online objectives and vision.
Communication requires a structured process.
A tight process means everyone involved with the project understands and knows what is going to be delivered, when deadlines need to be met and creates accountability. Process may vary depending upon the project and its requirements and helps to reduce project creep - when budgets and timeframes inflate.
Here at Feedia we are diligent in following our process to ensure that every element and aspect of the project is followed and understood by each party. This enables us to effectively develop a proposal that adheres to the brief's criteria and achieves measurable goals and planned objectives.
After all, we're all about maximising the communication and experiences between a client and their target markets.

I think that many people undervalue a project and creative process. Yes we all want it now and for less money, however we don't forget when things fall apart or fell short of our expectations.
So many times, poor results can be prevented with some proper planning!
